Harris & Lewis

I thought I knew Scotland… The Outer Hebrides were always just a  little bit too far for a visit, and you never know about the weather… But in March 2015, I ran out of excuses and Mo, who had been to the island over 20 times (in 3 years), just booked a room for me and I had to go. I was promised horizontal rain, grey skies, and bad weather conditions, but we had 5 days of glorious sunshine and even saw the most amazing display of the Northern Lights on the Isle of Lewis / at the Calanish Standing Stones.

Here’s just a small collection of my favourite images from Harris and Lewis… I’ve been there 8 times now – since March 2015. The next trip is planned already, and we are photographing a wedding in July 2016 🙂

We have stayed in a few amazing places, such as Seaside Cottage in Luskentyre, Pabbay Cottage in Leverburgh, Loch Roag B&B, Isle of Lewis, and best of them all – Oran-na-mara at Scarista.

Ceapabhal Mountain, West Harris

Certainly my most favourite mountain ever. It just looks amazing and on the foot of Ceapabhal is the best beach of them all – Scarista.

Isle of Lewis / Calanish Standing Stones

We need to spend a lot more time on Lewis and explore the hidden beaches.
